Yes, during the winter peak season. Since August 2026, an online ticketing system manages daily capacity (a cap of around 2,000 visitors a day was announced). You must secure a digital ticket or join an official guided tour to enter.
Standard admission is ¥800 for adults (18+) and ¥400 for children (6-17). Infants aged 0-5 enter for free. An annual pass costs ¥5,000.
It depends on your starting point. The pass costs ¥6,800. It covers round-trip transit from Nagano Station and the park entry fee. It is highly cost-effective if you rely on the Nagano Dentetsu train and local buses.

What an awesome experience! Having a guide like Hori, made it so much better than if we’d done it by ourselves. His information and stories about the snow monkeys, the area and personal experiences were amazing. The monkeys themselves were not afraid to be close to us. A long but beautiful walk to get to them was so worth it! Thank you Hori, we loved every minute.
